This Privacy Policy applies to the Residency Tracker mobile application (package name com.turnkeycorrections.residencytracker), published on Google Play and the Apple App Store by Turnkey Corrections, Inc. ("Turnkey Corrections," "we," "our," or "us"). Turnkey Corrections, Inc. is the developer and legal entity responsible for Residency Tracker and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data

Our app collects precise location data to help you track your state residency for tax purposes. This includes:

• GPS Coordinates: Latitude and longitude of your device
• Altitude: Elevation data when available
• Accuracy: GPS precision measurements
• Speed: Device velocity when moving
• Timestamps: Date and time of each location recording
• State Attribution: The U.S. state determined from your coordinates

Collection Frequency:

• Android: Every 5 minutes or when you travel 100 meters, whichever occurs first
• iOS: When significant location changes occur (approximately 500+ meters)

Background Collection: When you accept the in-app location disclosure and grant background location permission, Residency Tracker collects location data in the background, including when the app is closed or not in use. Background collection is what makes accurate residency day counts possible, because a day only counts correctly if your location is recorded throughout the day rather than only while the app is open. On Android, an ongoing notification is shown the entire time background tracking is running. You can turn background tracking off at any time under Profile → Background Tracking, and the app continues to work without it.

1.2 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email Address: Used for login and account recovery
• Password: Stored securely using industry-standard hashing (never in plain text)

1.3 Purchase Information

When you make in-app purchases, we collect:

• Transaction IDs from Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Purchase receipts for verification purposes
• Subscription status and expiration dates

We do not collect or store your payment card information. All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google.

1.4 Notification Preferences

If you enable notifications, we collect:

• Your timezone
• Preferred notification times
• Notification enabled/disabled status

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Determine State Residency: Calculate the number of days you spend in each U.S. state
• Generate Reports: Create PDF residency reports for tax documentation
• Authenticate Your Account: Verify your identity when you log in
• Process Purchases: Verify and manage your subscriptions and report purchases
• Send Notifications: Remind you about tracking status and app updates
• Improve Our Services: Analyze usage patterns to enhance app functionality

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

• Cloud Storage: Data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States
• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Authentication: We use secure JWT tokens with expiration times
• Device Storage: Sensitive data on your device is stored using platform-secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android EncryptedSharedPreferences)

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

4.1 OneSignal

We use OneSignal for push notifications. OneSignal receives your notification preferences and device identifiers to deliver notifications. See OneSignal's Privacy Policy.

4.2 Apple App Store / Google Play Store

In-app purchases are processed through Apple or Google. We send purchase receipts to these platforms for verification. See Apple's Privacy Policy or Google's Privacy Policy.

4.3 Amazon Web Services (AWS)

We use various AWS services for:

• AWS Location Service: Converting GPS coordinates to state names
• AWS Simple Email Service: Sending password reset emails
• AWS Lambda & DynamoDB: Server processing and data storage
• AWS S3: Storing generated PDF reports

5. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Location Data: Retained indefinitely to support historical residency tracking and report generation
• Account Information: Retained until you request account deletion
• Reports: Retained indefinitely for your access and verification purposes
• Purchase Records: Retained for the duration of your subscription plus any required legal retention period

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Location Tracking

You can enable or disable location tracking at any time through the app. When disabled, we will not collect new location data, but previously collected data will be retained.

6.2 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by using our Data Deletion Request Form or by contacting us at the email address below. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

6.3 Data Access

You can view your location history and residency data within the app at any time.

6.4 Notification Preferences

You can manage or disable push notifications through the app settings or your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

9. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

10. International Users

If you are accessing our app from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using our app, you consent to this transfer.
